Some fun and some yuck....

First--the fun part.....we ventured to one of our favorite places again this past weekend...Great Wolf Lodge. It is such a great little escape for us. So conveniently close....and so amazingly fun. I just can't say enough about the place. The only drawback is the cost per night but once you are there the food is very reasonable and each room has its own kitchen which is super nice for breakfast, snacks, and even dinner if you really want to be thrifty.
Now--the yuck part....both kids are taking turns passing sickness around. We brought Sissy home not feeling the best and then later that night diarrhea and a fever set in followed by vomiting the next morning. Luckily, her sickness lasted literally 12 hours and then it was over. I couldn't believe it. She rebounded so fast.
Will woke up this morning yelling for me saying that he had a belly ache. He has since heaved several times and is laying very still on the recliner. Poor little guy. I hope he rebounds as fast as Sissy. Oh..and did I mention I dislocated my toe the night before we were suppose to leave for Great Wolf Lodge? See what I mean...a bunch of fun and yuck all bundled into one.

Social Butterflies...

Yes, we the Taylor's, have been a little bit social lately. I know it is hard to believe but we really have. Saturday night we had the Johnson's and the St.John's over for dinner and it was such a treat. 7 kids all under the age of 5 plus 6 adults....it was a marriage of chaos, noise, and fun. Luckily, we didn't burn the food, no one was seriously injured, and we all had a great time. I so miss my dear friend Jennifer. I had to fight back tears as soon as I saw her. I am sure Bowling Green is thrilled to have them but everyone in Louisville misses them so much.
Sunday night we went to a super bowl party at Rob's house (Brian's friend and co-worker) and had a great time. It was a very easy-going party and it was so nice to meet some of Brian's co-workers (and their wives).
Saturday afternoon was also very exciting because my friend Nicole stopped by with her husband Brian...and a visit from Nicole is a BIG TIME treat for me because #1 we enjoy their company and #2 she does a yearly closet clean out and brings me all of her goodies that she is ready to part with. The nicest sweaters, shirts, pants, shoes, etc. I now even own my first pair of Joe's jeans. You just can't imagine all the stuff. I am sooo very grateful for her thoughtfulness and humbled by the opportunity to own such beautiful clothing. I spent an hour or so cleaning out and organizing my closet to make room for my "new" clothes. It was so exciting. I have worn something new everyday since Saturday. I feel like Cinderella every time I walk into my closet.
I think that covers just about everything. I had one of the places in my neck removed and biopsied and it came back totally benign. I was so relieved. The dr. said something is bothering my lymph nodes so I have switched to organic shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and even went back to my good ol' (non-electric) toothbrush for a while. Hopefully, a combination of those things will do the trick.

Oh...and I wanted to mention that I am in BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) and I can't say enough about it. The program is wonderful for adults and children and the material is so meaty and good. You can look up their website and see if there is one near you. You will not be disappointed.

The real picture...

So, while Sissy is fun to dress up and take pictures of, these pictures really depict how my kiddos look 50-75% of the time. Will can be found in a super hero graphic T and grey sweat pants. Sissy can be found in just bottoms (never a top) and usually the pants have donuts or cupcakes on them..belly sticking out....and wild messy hair. What matters most to me though is the smile on their faces.
Can't you just see her on a boat dock somewhere, fishing pole in one hand, beer in the other. :)

One more...

Just wanted to show one more Maw-Maw creation. I think this little top is so precious and the little girl wearing it is as well.

Happy Birthday D-D and Maw-Maw!

Well, last weekend sure was a big weekend in the Taylor household. Not only did we celebrate Maw-Maw's 6oth birthday and D-D's 62nd birthday, but Cookie (Will's preschool class mascot..a penguin) got to come home with us as well. Will was beaming as he walked out to the car on Friday with the Cookie bag in his hand. He has been waiting so long to bring him home and what a great weekend for him to spend with us.
[Cookie got to meet a lots of family members and even attend a preschool birthday party on Sunday. It was a non-stop weekend of parties, cake-eating, ice cream eating, and fun. Here are some of the pictures...
